I had an hour long dream this morning that seemed to go on all night long. I'm telling you, there were nudists and everything! (Turns out, I'm a prude about the nudist thing. Who knew?)
I got some fantastic news yesterday. Also one of the sweetest apologies ever, and I actually accepted it with grace (I think) and without denying that it needed to be said. Usually I end up protesting that nothing was done to be apologized for, but I managed to avoid it. I'm kind of proud of myself. Also really happy about the fantastic news!
B's doing his taxes, which is awesome because I think they'll stop holding my refund when his get done.

Memories
The streetsweeper was cleaning my street when I woke up this morning, and it reminded me of being a little girl. I have the clearest memories of running to the door when I was three(?) and standing behind the screen and waving. It was thrilling when they'd wave back at me. I used to get so excited on Fridays, garbage days.
In kinda freaky news, Mom had a dream yesterday that I had a baby. A baby with long dark hair, and I was taking her to work. Silly dream-me. Mom says this is the third or fourth time she's dreamt of me having babies. And then last night, I dreamt I was walking through a grocery store with a stranger and he had two babies with him and I told him I wanted one of his babies. He told me I should get a baby from his brother.
Yeah, weird. Anyway, I think Mom's got a long wait ahead of her.

New House, First Day
Well, today is my first time at the new house (the house I picked up without wanting to a week ago Friday) and as usual, I'm kind of terrified. Luckily, E is not supposed to be violent, which was a major reason I was scared of the last new place when I started working there.
I've also had some dreams this weekend about working with her, dreams where I had gotten her to start communicating and expressing herself better. Naturally, that makes me feel pretty good about the way things will go. I almost want to tell her dad that, to maybe make him feel as hopeful as I do right now, but I have a feeling "crazy person who thinks she's psychic will be working with your kid" won't reassure him much.
She really is sweet. I'm not worried about her so much as I'm worried about training under the lady I'll be training with. She's a little scary-in-your-face. My boss called her "kind of pushy". Yep, that's about right. Hopefully I can just sit back and observe today. Cross your fingers for me.

I'll Take That One!
Last night, in one of my many dreams, I went to see the new kittens.
Lisa pointed out the ones she thought were the best, like a black and white kitty. Those are always her favorites.
I immediately gravitated to the orange tabby kittens. There were two of them, and the first one I went to Lisa warned me away from. "He's like a tiger, be careful!" I picked up the second one.
He weighed as much as Linus. Immediately when I touched him, he started purring.
I think I'll be slightly disappointed when I get to see the kittens. I want another one of these:
and I think it's virtually impossible to find.

Coincidence
This morning I had a dream that we were babysitting Jessica's oldest boy. We watched him all day, and then when the time came for him to be picked up, they drove into the yard in a Giant Truck, and I panicked. What was I going to say to her? "She's so awesome", and "why the heck did she let me watch her kid in the first place and I hope she's not expecting me to talk about interesting things or, you know, be coherent", and I freaked out a little bit. Plus, for some reason I was not wearing a bra, and I was extremely self-conscious. But! Instead of putting on a bra, I really wanted to talk to her, so I decided to go outside and talk anyway.
(Side note: One time when I was just barely "blossoming", I'd say around twelve years old, my brother and I went to see Beauty and the Beast in the movie theater. We were getting our snacks when I noticed I was feeling weird. Something wasn't right. It took me a few minutes, but right when we were picking out our candy I realized that I wasn't wearing a bra. I was sure that everyone could tell and was thinking to themselves, "What a sloppy little girl, she's probably a slut, she should know better!" and generally gave myself a meltdown about it all. Really, what sort of asshole would think that about a little girl going to see a Disney movie? Really? And what kind of perv is looking at my twelve-year-old nubbins to begin with? That's just sick. But it's been a sort of background terror for me ever since. I'm not exactly built to go braless.)
So, I went outside to talk to Jessica and meet the rest of the family, and right then my mom and dad pull up and Bruce comes outside and they all start talking and I'm too terrified of being boring or someone noticing that I'm not wearing a bra that I don't say anything so as not to draw attention to myself and - how silly is this whole thing? - that's what I do.
Then I woke up.
In a fit of list-checking-off, I go to Google Reader to get through over 50 posts that I haven't read yet. I get to Kerflop and merrily read my way through a few posts and have to blink a few crazy times and do various tests to make sure I'm not dreaming and there you go. She linked to my blog in her sidebar. How crazy is that?
I love you, internet.

Ex-EEEEE-ma
The other night I had a dream (I promise to make this short) wherein my "friend" was secretly pregnant with Donatello's baby. By the time anyone figured out that she was pregnant, (SURPRISE!) she'd already had the baby and it was approximately five years old. Then he (SURPRISE!) held up a string, attached to which were dozens and dozens of babies of his own. Not surprising, because turtles develop way quicker than people.
Cool, huh?
Lisa and I went to a gardening seminar. It was pretty boring. We were debating not going in once we laid eyes on the other participants (they were old), but then a geezer caught sight of us and informed us that we were "too young" to be into gardening, and I saw Lisa shoot those flames from her eyes that she shoots when she wants to prove someone wrong at any cost and we had to go in. Half of my customers were there, and all of Lisa's customers, and that was awkward. We sat in the back (they were the only empty seats!) and we were locked in a room where it wasn't going to be inconspicuous for us to get up and creep out halfway through. So we sat in the back and snickered at the speaker who kept using words like "ERECT" and "WHACK OFF", and because we're twelve. At one point we were actively getting dirty looks from the old lady across the aisle. Also, how long do you have to live in an area where most of the population has German or polish names to become familiar with the general rules of pronunciation? I swear, the lady reading off the names from the raffle was being corrected by the people in the audience who didn't have the names in front of them. It was irritating. The speaker kept putting the em-PHA-sis on the wrong syl-LAB-le. One time he identified a plant as ESS-inacea. The helper lady corrected him, "ECH-innacea." I couldn't make this stuff up. There were other things he said wrong, but the notebook I was writing it all down in is out in the car. Midway through the evening, he actually suggested that there was an argument happening re: Global Warming. (He made allusions to people thinking it might be good. Who are these people? I need to teach them some things.) We didn't win any prizes, but Lisa bought me dinner at Perkins. Score!
We might be going to Chicago over Spring Break. Not that we get one out of habit, but we might take one just for kicks. If you know of anything slightly off-center that we definitely can't miss in that area, let us know. (Ikea is already on the list.)
I'm trying to do more things right by the environment. We're growing a garden and I'm using that plant-based dish soap, and I'm also starting a compost heap.
